Last week, I attended beyond tellerrand in Berlin. It was two full days + a warmup day of insightful talks, meeting amazing new people, and just great fun.
As a product designer, I sometimes get too bogged down into the "design" part of things. So it was refreshing to meet all kinds of people and hear talks from beyond my domain. Some of the talks themselves were experimental, and truly "Beyond Tellerrand".
Some of these included the really fun "Midi Meets CSS" by Adam Argyle, exhibiting the versatility of CSS in creating engaging experiences. Another one the really stuck with me was "The Good Internet" by Sacha Judd, making me want to just go home and create stuff I've really wanted to create for a long time. And to end it all, I was thoroughly engrossed by S. M. Astrid Bin, PhD's great storytelling skills during her talk "Electric Dreams", despite it being the last talk of a tiring 3 days.
I also really appreciated the format, allowing for 30 minutes of contemplation, discussion, and meeting new people between each talk. I really hope other conferences take note and implement some version of this.
A special shoutout to Marc Thiele for making this happen, and giving me the opportunity to attend.
Would love to attend the next iteration!
