Speaker Introduction – James Victore
Some speakers stay with you. James Victore certainly is one of them.
When James first stepped onto the beyond tellerrand stage in Düsseldorf in 2013, he didn’t just give a talk, he delivered a wake-up call. One, that actually made a number of people quit their jobs after they left the 2013 event. His message “Your work is a gift” hit the nerve back then and I still hear people mention it years later.
Katrin Schneider summarised it like this on the Mayflower blog back then:
This year it was James Victore kicking peoples asses (sorry – but I have so say it this way) in the evening session […]

So yes, I’m very happy to say: James is coming back to Düsseldorf in 2026.
He is a designer, artist, author, teacher and someone who truly cares about creative courage. His work is bold, loud, honest, and unmistakably his. No trends. No pleasing everyone. Just strong ideas and a clear voice.
What I appreciate a lot about James is that he doesn’t talk about pixels or tools. He talks about responsibility. About making work that means something. About showing up as yourself.
Especially in a time where so much feels automated, optimised and filtered, that feels more important than ever.
If you saw him in 2013, you know what that means. If you didn’t: now’s your chance.
I’m really looking forward to having James back on the beyond tellerrand stage in Düsseldorf. It’s going to be power- and wonderful.
