beyond tellerrand was a lovely event. The venue space feel cozy, relaxed and comfortable. There is a “if you’re here you’re family” vibe to it that stems from Marc’s personality and, literally, his family.
Speaker Introduction – Katie Menzies and Abel Reverter aka Cabeza Patata
Katie Menzies and Abel Reverter – aka Cabeza Patata – are back at beyond tellerrand. Cabeza Patata is a character design and illustration studio. Last time they came, they spoke about “The Positives of Saying No”, where they shared insights into their creative journey, decisions to reject conventional industry pressure, and how those brave choices shaped their studio’s direction.
They new talk “Exhausted … but still excited!” in which they share how navigating parenthood alongside creative work has forced them to adapt, and how embracing the chaos has brought fresh energy and joy to their practice. You might be tired, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be excited about what’s next!
