David Carson

David Carson

Currently based in Amsterdam and Barcelona, renowned Graphic designer, AD + C Dr, David Carson has worked with all the worlds largest agencies on a variety of projects, including branding for Microsoft, Bose, Nike, and Armani. David worked as “Artist in Residence” at Ad agency 72andSunny. In 2018 Carson was named freelance CCO at startups Plastaway (anti plastic) and frntside, (a hi tech sports app).

Apple computers called Carson “A pioneer with profound impact” and he’s the recipient of graphic design’s highest award, the AIGA Gold. London’s CR mag called Carson “the art director of the era” and he has spoken to over 275 ad agencies and design groups worldwide.

Tantek Çelik

Tantek Çelik

Tantek Çelik has been active in open web standards innovation, development, and advocacy for over 20 years. He is currently Web Standards Lead at Mozilla, community leader of indieweb.org & microformats.org, and participates in the World Wide Consortium (W3C) Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Working Group. He is the author of HTML5 Now: A Step-By-Step Tutorial for Getting Started Today (New Riders: 2010). He co-edited the W3C Recommendations CSS 2.1, CSS3 Color, & CSS3 UI, co-founded GMPG, BarCamp, IndieWeb.org, and was Chief Technologist at Technorati. Tantek lives in San Francisco, and has bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Science from Stanford University, as well as a strong background in human interface and user-centered design from his many years at Apple Computer. David Delgado

David loves ideas that elevate our spirit and make us feel part of something bigger than ourselves. As a Visual Strategist with The Studio at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, David draws from his background in anthropology, advertising, and art/science learning to create experiences that activate our imagination and invite us to think more deeply about the questions that drive science and technology forward.

A central theme to his work is the relationship between imagination and the desire to explore. Outside of JPL, David works as a independent artist and co-founder the Museum of Awe, developed to leave visitors feeling the gift and privilege of being alive.

Dorobot

Doro(bot) is a Hamburg based artist. After studying one semester of French and History at University by accident she started studying Visual Communication/Media at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg on full purpose. She finished in 2007 with a diploma project about lost items she found on the streets.

Since 2009 she works full time as an illustrator and author of „check-the-box-diaries for lazy people“ who like herself have lots of things to do but also love to spend a lot of time on their couch. She also does stopmotion animations.

In her work she searches for the playful and funny side of life.

Rob Draper

Rob Draper

Rob is an artist and designer based in the UK who specialises in hand lettering and creativity. Rob has worked with a range of worldwide clients including The Golden Globes, Levi’s, Samsung, Gap, Nike, Penguin Random House, Bartle Bogle & Hegarty, Pentagram, Harper & Collins, WWF & The Washington Post. He has had work featured in worldwide press from IdN International Designers Network, Design Taxi and numerous lettering/design/creativity publications to The Daily Mail and now also travels to speak on his ‘journey’ and how an unexpected series of events created the role he is in today.

Stephen Hay

Stephen Hay

Californian by birth and Dutchman by choice, Stephen is an art director, designer-who-codes, and writer. He designed and built his first website in 1995 while art directing for a design firm. He left print behind. The things that happened after that could turn a conference bio into a book—a thriller, even. Stephen is currently Creative Director at Rabobank.

Stephen wrote the book Responsive Design Workflow, which is all about content first, progressive enhancement, low-fi wireframing, and browser-based prototyping.

Mike Hill

Mike Hill

Mike is a multi-disciplinary designer working in the film and video game industry.

Mike designs worlds for the entertainment industry, creating concepts for film, TV and video games. Among other projects, Mike has designed for films such as Blade Runner 2049, HBO's Game of Thrones, as well as for video games such as the best-selling Call of Duty series Sony's award-winning Horizon: Zero Dawn and the upcoming Dune and more.

Mike's works have been published in the Spectrum series as well as in Expose 3: The Finest Digital Art in the Known Universe. Mike contributes to magazines such as Popular Mechanics and 3D World and is regular lecturer at events such as Industry Workshops in London as well as Portugal's Trojan Horse was a Unicorn.

Mike's major interest is in the psychology of storytelling and how an understanding of mythology and contemporary psychology is crucial to understanding how great stories work.

Mike currently works as a design consultant in the film industry - advising on scripts as well as creating production designs for upcoming unannounced projects.

Charlie Owen

Charlie Owen

Charlie is a front-end dev manager from the UK, currently living in Berlin. She has attained notoriety for being extremely foul mouthed on social media, and for making fun of the excesses and privilege of the tech industry. She advocates for a simpler approach to the web, and about how utterly vital empathy and kindness are when building sites for our fellow humans.

Carolyn Stransky is a frontend developer and former technical writer based in Berlin. She currently works at Blacklane, organises BerlinJS and teaches at ReDI School of Digital Integration. You’ll usually find her looking at memes or taking selfies in the nearest restroom.

Red Hong Yi

Red Hong Yi

Hong Yi, also known as, ‘Red’, is an artist who focuses on the reinterpretation of everyday materials for her work through the accumulation of objects.

Red studied at the University of Melbourne and TUDelft and holds a Master of Architecture. While working in Shanghai for Australian architecture firm HASSELL, Red built installations during weekends from the range of affordable materials available at local wholesale markets. Her artworks featuring portraits of renowned Chinese personalities were circulated widely on social media and media publications, including Wall Street Journal, TIME, New York Times, CNBC and Fast Company. Red has been commissioned by clients such as Facebook, Google, Gucci, Chase JP Morgan and the Mandarin Oriental, and exhibited pieces at the World Economic Forum (Davos), Anchorage Museum (Alaska), Design Miami (Miami) and the Asian Art Museum (San Francisco). Sotheby’s Institute has named her one of the “11 art world entrepreneurs you should know” in 2018.

Red is currently working on her first solo exhibition (likely to be in March 2019 in Hong Kong) while managing her design studio, Red One Studio.
