Jonathan Barnbrook

Jonathan Barnbrook is most well-known as David Bowie’s favourite graphic designer having worked on the designs of his last 4 albums. However he has had a long and distinguished career in type design being one of the original members of the “typographic new wave” – a 1990s international movement that rebelled against the Modernist conventions of the 20th century in favour of the new freedom that the rise of technology and a re-found interest in the vernacular gave them. His typefaces Mason, Exocet quickly became part of the world visual language. Barnbrook continues to release fonts through his own company Virusfonts. He also runs the design studio Barnbrook, which works with a mixture of cultural institutions, activist groups’ and charities. He is well known for his collaborations with Adbusters, Occupy London, Damien Hirst and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Nadieh Bremer

Nadieh Bremer

After graduating as an astronomer, Nadieh became a data scientist finding insights in the vast amounts of data that are hidden within many companies. It took a few years, but she finally figured out that she loved the visualisation of the data & insights even more than the analysis itself.

Since then, she has been spending most of her evening and weekends reading about the subject, creating personal projects, and sharing lessons learned from her experiments on her website, VisualCinnamon.com. These days she’s even working on it full-time as a freelancing data visualisation designer.

Espen Brunborg

Espen Brunborg

Espen Brunborg is an Norwegian designer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2010, he co-founded Primate, a small web agency driven by a love of creativity, curiosity for technology, and a belief that great clients are born from honest relationships.
He started his career as a magazine designer before trying his luck at a small Edinburgh design studio.

When he was let go after only three months he chanced upon a job as a web designer, and the rest is history. Espen now spends most of his time trying to bridge the gap between graphic design and what we call web design. Is there a difference, really? Should there be?

Over the years, Espen has worked with clients like Scottish Widows, Edinburgh University, HomeExchange.com, WWF Scotland, Thistle Foundation, Waterstones, Children 1st and the Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution.

He has never had an exhibition or a book written about him, but he once thought he was up for the “Young Norwegian of the Year” award, only to find out it was a prank executed by a Swedish client.
