“Visual Thinking” with Eva-Lotta Lamm and Nadine Roßa
My guests today: Eva-Lotta Lamm and Nadine Roßa. Both based in Berlin and both simply really good in visualising their thoughts or in taking notes visually. So obviously this is the core topic today: Visual Thinking. What is it good for? How does it work? Can I start, even though I am not good at drawing things? Many questions that might pop up in your head already – and the right show to attend for you then!
Instead of classic presentations the format of this show will be a bit different. Nadine and Eva-Lotta will ask each other their favourite questions about their visual thinking, their sketching practice and the field of “bringing clarity to complex problems” in general. And to bring the theory to life straight away, they will sketchnote each other’s answers live on screen at the same time.
After an initial round of questions between them, the audience is invited to ask their own questions and contribute to the big picture that Nadine and Eva-Lotta will create together. Let’s have a good time together and talk, draw and play :)
About Eva-Lotta Lamm
Eva-Lotta Lamm is a designer, author and visual thinker. After a 15-year-long career as a UX / digital product designer working in Paris and London for Google, Skype, and Yahoo!, she shifted her professional focus to her life-long passion of visual thinking.
She is now based in Berlin, running her own business designing (physical and digital products) that teach a global audience to use sketching as a tool for understanding, thinking and communicating more efficiently. Her mission is to empower people to make the complex problems they face in their work and daily life visual so they can ‘see’ them from a fresh perspective and solve them with more confidence, creativity and clarity.
Eva-Lotta is a sought after expert in her field. She is regularly speaking at international design conferences on the topics sketching, sketchnoting and visual thinking and has been teaching her craft both in-peron and online for over a decade.
In her spare time, Eva-Lotta practices yoga and improvisation, loves travelling, languages and learning new things. These passions have inspired several of her books capturing her experiences in the form of rich visual notes.
About Nadine Roßa
Nadine Roßa is an illustrator, designer and sketchnoter who loves anything visual. Give her pen and paper and she is a happy woman. She has over 20 years experience in the field of design and illustration and worked in Cologne, New York and Helsinki before she ended up in Berlin where she will probably live and work for the rest of her life.
After years of working in web design and UI design Nadine shifted her focus to sketchnoting and Graphic Recording. She not only teaches sketchnoting and drawing in workshops but also wrote a couple of bestselling books on the topic. All this is part of her mission to get out into the world: drawing is a powerful tool for everybody.
She helps to create visual protocols (aka Graphic Recordings) for conferences, talks and workshops and loves that. But whenever you need help to communicate something visually, Nadine is happy to help with her visual superpowers.
