beyond tellerrand Events and the Corona Virus
(Update: the tenth beyond tellerrand in Düsseldorf is postponed. More information here.)
At this moment, while writing these lines, all three events for 2020 will be held as planned. I am following all updates carefully and things might change, but right now only two attendees asked, if the event in Düsseldorf takes place and they where happy, when I said yes.
It is a difficult decision, but being only 7 weeks away from a nearly sold out event in Düsseldorf, cancelling or moving the date would not only mean a lot of problems for me, being a single person dealing with all this, it would also mean, that many people would have to deal with changing or cancelling travel arrangements, hotel plans and so on. Nevertheless safety and health first and if I need to move the event, I will, of course.
I really hope that until the event takes place, things will be better, but you never know. No matter how things are short before and during beyond tellerrand in Düsseldorf, we need to be more careful. Less hugging, less shaking hands, more washing your hands and paying attention. And last but not least: If you feel ill or sick, please stay at home.
As said: I will follow the development closely and take action if needed. I will keep the attendees of the Düsseldorf event posted via email and in our Slack and let everybody attending know about the actual state regularly. Also in case I do have to move (or cancel) the tenth beyond tellerrand in Düsseldorf.
If you have any questions meanwhile, please feel free to reach out to me. Take care, stay safe and see you soon! /marc
