Erik van Blokland runs letterror.com, a small font foundry (FontFont, House Industries) and a typographic design studio. He develops niche tools for type design and font production and has been involved in the development of the UFO (for font sources) and WOFF (for font binaries) formats. He is a senior lecturer at the TypeMedia master at the Royal Academy of Arts in Den Haag.

Josh Brewer is the Principal Designer at Twitter, an advisor/mentor at The Designer Fund, and co-creator of 52 Weeks Of UX. In 2012, Fast Company named him one of "fifty designers shaping the future of design."

He believes design is about relationships—at every level—and spends his time working to better understand and reinforce those connections.

Mandy Brown is co-founder and CEO of Editorially, a new platform for collaborative writing. She is also co-founder of A Book Apart, a former contributing editor for A List Apart, and the editor of many great books, including The Shape of Design, by Frank Chimero. She served for two years as communications director and product lead at Typekit, doing her part to contribute to better typography on the web. She lives in Brooklyn.

Blaine Cook is a Canadian software engineer, now living and working in London, UK. He is the principal co-author of the OAuth and Webfinger specifications.

He is the former lead developer of Twitter. After working at the Fire Eagle project (Yahoo) and being part of the Open Source Osmosoft team (BT Group), he is now a freelance developer and, in the meanwhile, he developed himself a passion for front end.

Meagan is a designer with a passion for refining her design process to reflect the constantly changing nature of the web. In her eight year career she's partnered with legendary design firms such as SimpleBits and Happy Cog. She's also done client work for a broad range of companies, including Twitter and Change.org. Nowadays she spends her time making amazing things as the Art Director for Chartbeat, and occasionally writing on her site, owltastic.com. She loves owls, antiques, typography, and being a New Yorker.

Brad Frost is a web designer, consultant and speaker located in beautiful Pittsburgh, PA. He is the creator of This Is Responsive, a collection of patterns, resources and news to help people create great responsive web experiences. He also created Mobile Web Best Practices, a resource that lays out considerations for creating great mobile web experiences. He curates WTF Mobile Web, a site that highlights mobile web worst practices. He is passionate about mobile and is constantly tweeting, writing and speaking about it.

Aaron has been building websites for nearly two decades and, in that time, has cultivated a love of web standards and an in-depth knowledge of website strategy, architecture, and interface design, picking up several programming languages along the way.

He has served as Technical Editor for A List Apart, is a contributing writer for .net Magazine, and has filled a small library with his technical writing and editing credits. His latest book is Adaptive Web Design: Crafting Rich Experiences with Progressive Enhancement.

Chris Heilmann has dedicated a lot of his time making the web better. Originally coming from a radio journalism background, he built his first web site from scratch around 1997 and spent the following years working on lots of large, international web sites. He then spent a few years in Yahoo building products and explaining and training people and is now at Mozilla. Chris wrote and contributed to four books on web development and wrote many articles and hundreds of blog posts for Ajaxian, Smashing Magazine, Yahoo, Mozilla, ScriptJunkie and many more.

Jeremy Keith is an Irish web developer living in Brighton, England where he works with the web consultancy firm Clearleft. He wrote the books DOM Scripting, Bulletproof Ajax, and most recently, HTML5 For Web Designers. His latest project is Huffduffer, a service for creating podcasts of found sounds. When he's not making websites, Jeremy plays bouzouki in the band Salter Cane.

Kate Kiefer Lee is a writer, editor, and content strategist at MailChimp. She works on the creative team to publish and maintain the company’s content. A former magazine writer and editor, Kate makes storytelling a central part of MailChimp’s website. She lives in Atlanta with her giant dog and average-sized husband.

A common face on the speaking circuit, Elliot gives talks at design events across the globe, including An Event Apart, Brooklyn Beta, Future of Web Design, South by Southwest, and Web Directions.

He writes for publications such as .Net, Computer Arts, and Codex: The Journal of Typography, is the author of Sexy Web Design (Sitepoint, 2008), and sits on the judging panels of design competitions, as well as Smashing Magazine’s Experts Panel.

Elliot is the founder of typography magazine 8 Faces co-founder of Viewport Industries. He lives and works in the countryside between Bristol and Bath, England.

James Victore is a self-taught, independent artist and designer. Clients include Moet & Chandon, Aveda, Esquire and TIME Magazines, Yohji Yamamoto, Bobbi Brown cosmetics, The New York Times, and The School of Visual Arts. Awards include an Emmy for television animation, and Gold and Silver Medals from the New York Art Director’s Club.

Victore’s posters have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and are in the permanent collections of the Palais du Louvre, Paris, the Library of Congress, Washington, DC, the Design Museum in Zurich and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Victore lectures and teaches regularly around the globe and he is a professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His book “Victore or, Who Died and Made You Boss?” was released by Abrams in 2010. He lives, loves and works in Brooklyn, NY.
